Walkers step up to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley's 100th home project

More than 120 walkers made dozens of loops around Spring Hill Mall in West Dundee to raise funds for Habitat for Humanity of Northern Fox Valley at the organization's annual Walk-A-Thon Saturday.

Families, children and teens representing the National Honor Society clubs from Streamwood High School and Elgin High School walked for two hours around the mall with the goal to raise $4,000 to cover the cost of kitchen cabinets that will be installed this spring in 100th home built by the organization. That new home will be built directly across the street from the very first home the organization built in 1991.
