McLaughlin firmly in support of term limits
I firmly believe that the best way we can fix Illinois is to get rid of all the politicians. Holding public office used to be a public service. Now, I feel like we serve them. Add to that the iron-fisted rule of Mike Madigan, who has been in office for 40 years.
With term limits, we'd have a continual rotation of leaders with fresh blood and new ideas.
I recently attended a League of Women Voters of McHenry County forum, where two of the Republican candidates for State Senate in my district spoke. They were asked their position on term limits, and Martin McLaughlin was firmly in support, while Dan McConchie was against term limits. Casey Urlacher did not even attend.
I will only support candidates who are in favor of good government reforms like term limits. So I know I'll be supporting Martin McLaughlin for Senate.
