LifeSource Celebrates Blackhawks' Home Stretch With Tickets, Memorabilia for Area Blood Donors

LifeSource is marking the Chicago Blackhawks' final last few weeks of the regular season by offering blood donors the chance to win tickets to several remaining home games in addition to team memorabilia including autographed hats, pucks, DVD's and more.

Through March 17, participating donors who make a life saving blood donation at any one of 18 Chicagoland LifeSource Community Donor Centers and mentions the word 'Blackhawks' will be entered for a random drawing to win tickets and merchandise.

Ten lucky donors will win a pair of tickets to either the March 14 (L.A. Kings),

March 16 (Philadelphia Flyers), or March 22 (Minnesota Wild) Blackhawks game at United Center. One first prize-winner will receive an autographed Blackhawks cap, and one second place winner will receive an autographed puck.

In addition, persons donating March 18-31 will be entered to win a pair of tickets to see the Blackhawks play the Phoenix Coyotes at United Center on April 4.

"Blood donations are needed year-round," says LifeSource spokesperson Thelma Sardin. "As we move into spring, donations are not only needed to help maintain our current inventories but also to help prepare for the coming summer months. While people of all blood types are encouraged to donate, there is an increased need for those with A-, B- and O- blood to donate. These blood types are always in demand for area patients."

Blood donors must be at least 17 years old (or 16 years old with parental consent).

In preparation for their donation, donors are asked to eat well, stay hydrated and arrive with proper identification. LifeSource hosts' blood drives daily and also operates community donor centers across the greater Chicago area.
