Russian club Rostov says doping tests clean after FIFA swoop

MOSCOW (AP) - Russian club FC Rostov says all of its players were clean after a surprise doping swoop conducted last week by FIFA.

Rostov said in a website statement that it had received the results of tests taken after last week's 3-1 Russian league win over Dynamo Moscow.

The club says "all the doping tests turned out to be clean" and that its players did not use banned substances.

The testing followed reports in Russian media that Rostov had been trying to buy the banned substance meldonium.

Rostov has qualified for the Champions League next season and could win its first Russian title on Saturday, though it trails CSKA Moscow by two points ahead of the final round of games.
