Gronkowski active, set to make season debut vs. Texans

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Tight end Rob Gronkowski is set to make his season debut when the Patriots host the Texans.

Gronkowski is listed as active for the first time this season on Thursday night, after he sat out the first two weeks of the regular season with a hamstring injury he sustained during training camp.

As expected, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo is inactive after injuring his right shoulder in the second quarter of New England's win over Miami last week. Garoppolo practiced on a limited basis this week, but was listed as doubtful on Wednesday.

Jacoby Brissett is set to start in his place, which would mark the first time the Patriots have started a rookie quarterback since Drew Bledsoe in 1993.

Other inactives for New England are linebacker Dont'a Hightower (knee), running back D.J. Foster, guard Jonathan Cooper (foot), cornerback Eric Rowe (ankle), offensive lineman LaAdrian Waddle and tight end A.J. Derby.

Receiver Braxton Miller, quarterback Brandon Weeden, safety Eddie Pleasant, linebacker Brian Cushing, tackle Duane Brown, guard Oday Aboushi, and defensive end Devon Still are listed as inactive for the Texans.
