The Wright Around Chicago guided bus tour shows highlights of sites where Frank Lloyd Wright made his enduring mark on the area, including where he lived and worked for the first 20 years of his career. The popular seasonal tour by the Frank Lloyd Wright Trust includes visits to The Rookery lobby, which Wright remodeled in 1905, Wright's Oak Park Home and Studio and a comprehensive tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright Prairie School of Architecture Historic District in Oak Park. The group stops for lunch at an Oak Park restaurant before heading to Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood to see Wright's masterpiece, the Frederick C. The city that's home to the first modern skyscrapers and designs by Daniel Burnham, Frank Lloyd Wright and Louis Sullivan is an architectural fan's dream. Chicago Design Museum (ChiDM) presents the North American debut of "City of Ideas: Architects' Voices and Visions," an experiential traveling exhibit that showcases interviews with visionary architects via text, audio recordings, images and projections. Multimedia installations merge the voices of high-profile architects with visual representations of their work. Plus, there will be various presentations and performances from the Chicago Architecture Foundation, the Poetry Foundation and other Chicago-area partners. It's autumn, so push aside the salads and smoothies and belly up to the third annual Mac and Cheese Fest. The celebration of the classic dish challenges top Chicago chefs to create their version of the popular dish. Admission affords you tasting portions of as much mac 'n' cheese as you'd like as well as five drink tickets for beer, wine and spirits. Come hungry. Relive authentic encampments of the War of 1812 and the Indiana Territorial Period at Indiana's Vincennes State Historic Site during Muster on the Wabash. Witness the confrontation between Governor William Henry Harrison (who would become the ninth U.S. President) and Shawnee Leader Tecumseh; experience a battle and a gentlemen's duel; patrol with Harrison's troops; see cannon, rifle and musket demonstrations; and get the kids involved with activities just for them on the grounds of historic Fort Knox II. Craft brewers take center stage at the annual Lake Geneva Beer & Spirits Festival at the Grand Geneva Resort and Spa.
