Streamwood resident appointed Hanover Township trustee

The Hanover Township Board of Trustees voted Nov. 1 to appoint Khaja Moinuddin to fill a vacant trustee position on the board. Moinuddin will serve the remainder of the term set to expire in April 2017.

"Khaja's experience and background will be a tremendous asset to the township," Brian P. McGuire, Hanover Township supervisor, said in a news release. "We look forward to his perspective and contributions."

A 12-year resident of Streamwood, Moinuddin served on the village's planning and zoning board from 2009 to 2015 and is also a trustee with the Poplar Creek Library District. He is employed as a senior civil engineer with the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.

"This is a responsibility which I will not take lightly," he said. "I will use my twenty years of governmental experience and strong work ethics to serve the residents, to the best of my ability."

Hanover Township serves more than 101,000 residents in portions of the Streamwood, Elgin, Bartlett, Hanover Park, Hoffman Estates and Schaumburg.
