Two teenage boys were killed in a two-vehicle crash in Virgil Township Saturday night, authorities said.
Arthur Stenger, a 16-year-old from Montgomery, and Elijah Vajgert, a 16-year-old from Maple Park, were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash near Meredith Road and Beith Road, Kane County Sheriff's officials said.
Arthur, the driver, and Elijah, the passenger, were riding in a 2002 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck west on Beith Road and stopped at the stop sign for the intersection.
For an unknown reason, the truck pulled into the intersection and was struck by a 1979 Peterbilt semi hauling corn and traveling south on Meredith Road about 5 p.m., the sheriff's office said.
After the collision, the vehicles rolled over and knocked down a utility pole and power lines nearby.
The 60-year-old driver of the semi truck was treated and released at the scene, according to the sheriff's office.
The Kane County Sheriff's Office and Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team continue to investigate the crash. No tickets have been issued as of Saturday night.
