Dec. 18: Tomáseen Foley's 'A Celtic Christmas' at CLC nearly sold out

Enjoy stories, music, song and dance from the rich treasury of Ireland's cultural heritage with Tomáseen Foley's A Celtic Christmas at 4 p.m. Dec. 18 at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County in Grayslake. Limited tickets remain for this nearly sold-out performance.

Foley, a native Irish storyteller, and some of the most gifted Celtic musicians, dancers and singers performing on either side of the Atlantic will present a wholesome Christmas show the entire family will enjoy. This joyous evening of music and celebration recreates the joy and innocence of a night before Christmas in a remote farmhouse in western Ireland in the 1940s. There is magic in the night air as neighboring families gather around the fire to sing haunting melodies of traditional Irish Christmas carols. Magic transpires throughout the night, as neighbors raise the rafters with the joy of their music, knock sparks off the flagstone floor with traditional dances and fill the night with storytelling and laughter.

Foley has released two CDs: "A Celtic Christmas: Parcel From America," and a live recording, "The Priest and the Acrobat." Rego Irish Records says "he is a master of the Irish narrative and a keeper of the flame for a priceless piece of Irish culture."

The show is celebrating its 20th anniversary of touring. For information, visit http://tomaseenfoley.com/shows/a-celtic-christmas/.
