Lach, Carmel secure another victory
Katie Lach continued her strong freshman season, scoring 12 points to lead Carmel Catholic's girls basketball team to a 43-22 win over Aurora Catholic Central at Kaneland on Saturday.
Ranya Jamison and Shai Horton added 8 points apiece for the Corsairs (15-11).
Lakes 53, Round Lake 32: Mia Edwards scored 12 points, Natalie Iacopetti added 11, and the visiting Eagles won the Northern Lake County game to snap a three-game losing streak.
Lakes (15-14, 6-7) got a pair of 3-pointers from Shannon Hurlbut and one apiece from Iacopetti, Kylie Jozwik and Savannah Sikora.
Diane Flade's 8 points, including two 3-pointers, led Round Lake (5-19, 2-11).
Antioch 61, North Chicago 19: The hosts won their 16th game in a row, improving to 25-3 and 12-1 in the Northern Lake County Conference.
In their final home game of the season, the Sequoits celebrated their seniors, who didn't disappoint. The six seniors dominated in the opening quarter, holding North Chicago scoreless while putting up 19 points of their own.
Amy Reiser led the way with a game-high 15 points, and Erika Gallimore put in 9 points. Ashley Reiser had 8 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists and 8 steals. Senior Becca Cleven added a season-high 8 points.
Warren 52, Niles West 20: Jordyn Hughes scored a game-high 22 points, and the host Blue Devils celebrated senior day by coasting to the nonconference win.
Kaylen Dickson added 11 points for Warren (23-4), which honored seniors Rebekah Foley, Nefeli Papadakis and Asha Lake.
Stevenson 50, Palatine 34: Ashley Richardson scored 17 points on senior night, leading the host Patriots to the nonconference win.
Klaire Steffens added 15 points and Kiana Cencula had 9 for Stevenson (21-5), which honored seniors Richardson, Madison Wicklund, Ashley Campos and Sam Friedman. All four seniors started the game.
