Willowbrook 9, Morton 2:
M.J. Ranieri had 3 hits and doubled twice as the Warriors (11-1, 3-0) stayed unbeaten in the West Suburban Gold. Alec Michaelson and Mike Dembowski had 2 hits while Ben Espinoza and Jack Hines drove in 2 runs. Winning pitcher Ryan Mintz struck out seven.
Wheaton Academy 4, Fenton 3:
The Warriors (3-8, 2-4) broke out to a 4-0 second-inning lead and held on in the Metro Suburban Conference. Kellen Mitchell, who drove in 2 runs, Mike Cortez and Peter Crowe had 2 hits. Jake Koslosky pitched into the seventh inning to get the win, and Crowe recorded the final out for the save.
Addison Trail 18, Proviso East 3:
The Blazers (6-5, 3-1) won their fourth straight with the five-inning West Suburban Gold victory. Matt Crandall and Anthony Biondo each drove in 4 runs. Winning pitcher Nick Daudelin struck out nine.
Downers North 7, Glenbard West 2:
Nick Bacarella went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI for the Trojans (8-7, 2-3), who broke out to a 6-0 second-inning lead in the West Suburban Silver. Tyler Rosen struck out 14 in 6⅔ innings. Ryan Petersen went 2-for-3 with a home run and 2 RBI for Glenbard West (5-9, 2-5).
Downers South 5, Hinsdale South 2:
The Mustangs (10-5, 4-1) scored 3 runs in the top of the 10th inning to even the West Suburban Gold series. A Michael Hoes sacrifice fly and two walks with the bases loaded accounted for the go-ahead runs. Mike Palenik was the winning pitcher in relief of Nick Stacey.
