Waukegan Partner in Parks golf benefit to feature $1 million hole
The Waukegan Park District's annual golf outing, Partners in Parks, benefits programs, events and scholarships through the Waukegan Parks Foundation. The 22nd annual golf outing will be held on Friday, July 28, at Bonnie Brook Golf Course with registration beginning at 7:30 a.m., breakfast, a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., and an appetizer and craft beer hour, followed by lunch with prizes, awards and raffles.
New this year is a $1 million shootout on the 17th hole. Four lucky golfers, selected by a random drawing that includes all outing participants, will get a chance to try for a hole-in-one. The drawing will be held prior to the shotgun start and the golfers chosen in the random drawing will take their shots at the 17th hole at 1:15 p.m. Waukegan's own Stuckey Construction is sponsoring the $1 million shootout.
Other popular contests include Beat the Pro benefiting Cultural Arts, Straightest Drive, and Closest to the Pin, as well as an Inside the Circle Contest benefiting special recreation. Everyone who signs up to golf on the sixth hole will receive a free shot in a $10,000 hole-in-one contest.
Enjoy a round of golf at one of the top 50 golf courses in Chicagoland while helping support Waukegan Park District programs, events and scholarships. Participation is open to anyone. Get a foursome together or register as an individual player to be placed in a foursome.
To contribute without golfing, green and tee sponsorships are available for $175 each. Participation in the outing includes: breakfast, 18 holes with a power cart, luncheon, goody bag and raffles. Cost to play is $110 per person or $395 for a foursome.
