Gurnee's DeVry University campus to move

DeVry University is moving its Gurnee campus to a new location in the village under a measure approved unanimously by village trustees this month.

The school is moving from its current site at 1075 Tri State Parkway, which opened in 2004, to a commercial building down the road at 1325 Tri State Parkway.

According to village documents, DeVry's lease at its current location was due to expire.

The new facility is about the same size as DeVry's existing space. It will house three classrooms for undergraduate and graduate level classes, along with administrative space.

Mayor Kristina Kovarik said she is glad DeVry chose to stay in town and keep higher education in Gurnee.

DeVry officials did not return multiple requests for comment about the move and information on when it will happen.

According to U.S. News and World Report, DeVry has a total undergraduate enrollment of 33,571 at campuses across North America.
