Palatine Library launches new website

Submitted by Palatine Public Library District

Palatine Public Library District announced the successful launch of its newly designed, easy-to-use website: www.palatinelibrary.org.

The site, created by web development company Library Market of Jonesboro, Arkansas, is the result of more than a year's extensive research, user-experience testing, staff input, and planning.

Easy searching and clear navigation, together with the new look, make it simple to find the titles and information needed. New features include a quick access catalog search box up front and center; a helpful list of upcoming weekly programs and events; a top menu with popular topics of interest; and suggestions for reading, music, movies, upcoming titles, and new releases.

A bar at the bottom right of the screen offers chat reference (during open hours), by clicking on "How can we help?"

A new Events Calendar, also created by Library Market, allows users to easily search for programs, filter by interest, and register online. Patrons can see how many seats are already filled, add a program to their own calendar, and share it on social media.

"We are excited that the new site will now be mobile responsive," said Technology Manager Susan Conner, "enabling users to access our website easily from any device."

If you have a comment or question about the newly designed website, www.palatinelibrary.org, contact library staff at (847) 358-5881.

Palatine Public Library District is your destination for knowledge, entertainment, and community. The district serves approximately 90,000 residents predominantly within the communities of Palatine and Hoffman Estates.
