West Chicago District 33 picks interim superintendent
A longtime member of the West Chicago Elementary District 33 administrative team has been named interim superintendent for the 2019-20 school year.
Kristina Davis, who currently serves as the district's assistant superintendent for learning, was selected Monday to replace Superintendent Charles Johns, who will take the reins of Glenbrook High School District 225 in time for the next school year. She officially will begin her interim duties on July 1.
Officials said plans to search for a permanent replacement likely will begin once a new board is seated after the April 2 election. They say the board is committed to gathering feedback from stakeholders once the formal search process begins.
Davis has served in a variety of roles since joining the district 10 years ago.
"She possesses a tremendous passion for our core mission and values and a deep commitment to our students and staff," Johns said in a written statement. "Aside from a firm understanding of the strategic direction of the district, she has developed the relationships necessary to get this work done."
Davis and Johns will work together over the next several months to prepare for the transition.
