Naper Nights' summer rock party starts Friday

The stage is set for six nights of music as Naper Settlement - in conjunction with the Naperville Heritage Society's 50th anniversary - celebrates Naper Nights on three summer weekends.

Visitors are invited to experience six nights of rock while enjoying cold craft brews and wine, delicious food, and music for the generations. Tribute bands from across the country will showcase the history of rock, playing classics from the '60s to today over the summer.

The party starts Friday, June 14, to celebrate the anniversary of the Weed Ladies of the Naperville Heritage Society, a long-standing volunteer group on the museum's campus.

Naper Nights will honor the women with a night of powerful female music. Landslide, a Fleetwood Mac tribute, will return to the stage to open for the Goddesses of Rock. This female powerhouse cover band features the musical stylings of Janis Joplin, Tina Turner, Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Heart, Lady Gaga and more.

June 15 ends opening weekend with a night of classic rock. The Doors of Chicago, a The Doors tribute, will open for Rocks Off, a 9-piece The Rolling Stones tribute with horn section. The concert will open each night with students from School of Rock playing their favorites on the Naper Nights stage.

There will be a variety of summertime eats, including vegetarian options, offered from vendors Nandos Peri-Peri Chicken, Angeli's, Billy Brick's Wood Fired Pizza, Black Rock and more.

Wine and beer selections will be available from Rodney Strong Vineyards and Bell's Brewing, with Bell's newest brew, Official, added to the offerings. Children's activities from Pinot's Palette, PRO Martial Arts, Players Indoor Sports Center, and more will also be on site.

Each night, all tips collected at the beverage tent benefit a local organization. Tips on Friday benefit the Naperville Junior Woman's Club and Saturday's tips will go to Easterseals DuPage & Fox Valley.

The concert kicks off each night at 5 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youths. Members and children younger than 4 are free.

Other performers include The Belfast Cowboys at 8 p.m. Friday, July 19; Think Floyd USA at 7:45 p.m. Saturday. July 20; Soundtracks of a Generation at 6 p.m. Friday, Aug. 16; and The THE BAND Band Saturday, Aug. 17.
