Forever Om Yoga celebrates 10 years in Lake Forest and expansion to Vernon Hills
LAKE FOREST/VERNON HILLS, IL (JUNE 2019) - Forever Om Yoga (FOY) is proud to celebrate 10 years in Lake Forest and its expansion to Vernon Hills. At a time when yoga crazes such as goat yoga are popping up all over America, owner, Cilla Stoll's success focuses on the age old practice of yoga, combined with the power of heat, and making it available to anyone!
"Yoga is about finding your edge and discovering the beauty of who you are by connecting to your higher purpose through movement and breath," says Stoll, owner and Lead Teacher Trainer, Forever Om Yoga. "With how intense most of our lives are it's easy to "forget" who we are. This practice is a rediscovering your body and mind. I know first hand how yoga can change your life for the better."
As a 54-year old mother of three, business-woman, breast cancer survivor, yogi and philanthropist, this Lake Forest native began practicing yoga after recurring injuries prevented her from properly training for a grueling triathlon. As Stoll awaited surgery to correct her cervical spine issues, she began practicing yoga and "it cured me." The rest, they say, is history!
"I have a hunger for learning and growing and most importantly sharing with other instructors and my students," says Stoll who is certified 500RYT and ERYT with Yoga Alliance. Her FOY studios are also registered Yoga Schools through Yoga Alliance for both 200 and 300 RYT programs
Now, after 10 years in business, Stoll says the secret to FOY's success lies in her belief to teach the ancient tradition of yoga - the physical, spiritual, breath practices and meditation techniques - in a state-of-the-art heat and humidity controlled studio. This combination creates a depth of experience so powerful it is not easily matched in any other workout or meditation environment.
"FOY focuses on the dynamic power of flowing movement in a hot environment with a specialized way of teaching for a creative and intense practice. All yogis are encouraged to follow their own intuition in doing more or less in the room. No one is the same and no body should look the same in the practice. We want this to be a welcoming place for instructors and people new to the practice - first timers are our favorites because we are so excited about what they are about to experience. Not only are the poses themselves great for the body and mind but "sweating allows the body to cleanse and restore itself, a complete process of cleansing the mind and body entirely."
FOY studios are heated to 90 degrees with 60% humidity, with technology that provides the cleanest air possible. The hot studio combined with the traditional practice of yoga allows FOY clients to gain strength and flexibility that heals the body.
Just ask her clients! From reducing stress levels, and improving physical strength, to preventing chronic disease, fighting feelings of pain, and providing a major boost for mood and focus, FOY students are reaping the benefits.
"I opened the studio hoping to help people because I knew how much yoga helped me both physically, mentally, and spiritually," says Stoll, "I love yoga because it's a never-ending process of growth and understanding of oneself and the practice." And, in an age of fitness fads, it's a practice seeped in deep tradition and proven success.
Family is the most important element of her business and studios, so much in fact Stoll's oldest daughter, Kelsey, is one of her main instructors. "By supporting my instructors in every aspect of their lives, it allows us all to live balanced lives and we are actually living as we believe and teach," says Stoll. "We put family ahead of everything else."
