Rolling Meadows Meijer celebrates new look, renovation

Magicians, face painters and balloon artists entertained shoppers at the Meijer grocery store in Rolling Meadows on Saturday as part of a storewide celebration of renovations.

Every aspect of the store was improved during the work, according to store director Brian Lach. Lach said every department has received a redesign and the checkout lanes have all been upgraded.

"Even the parking lot is brand new," Lach said.

Lach said his favorite change has been the modern look. The signage in every department has been overhauled. Several sections are now sporting red neon lights. Lach said the results of the project, which took around three months, have been positively received by the community.

Along with the permanent changes, shoppers Saturday got to see some temporary attractions as well, like a huge inflatable red chair and a Skee-Ball table near the store's entrance.

The store, which opened about 17 years ago, is located at 1301 Meijer Drive in Rolling Meadows.
