Arlington Park's 2019 season ends this week

This week marks the last days of the 2019 racing season at Arlington International Racecourse in Arlington Heights, with a number of specials and promotions planned.

Live racing begins at 1:25 p.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with gates open at noon each day. Thursday is Value Day, with $6 general admission available online, and $4 for military and seniors over 55 at the box office.

Saturday is the Drink Arlington Dry promotion, with drink specials such as $5 beer, wine and cowboy lemonade. A number of giveaways are also available for those who enter to win.

This year, on Arlington's 92nd season, there were 71 live racing dates that started May 3. On Tuesday, the Illinois Racing Board will consider Arlington's request for 68 dates in 2020.
