Glen Ellyn Historical Society hosts fourth annual Gingerbread House Contest
Register now for the Glen Ellyn Historical Society's fourth annual Gingerbread Contest. Entries are due by 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5.

Return a completed entry form, either by mail, in person, or by email to director@gehs.com.
Local businesses, organizations, schools, families, churches, civic departments are welcome to participate.
There are awards for individuals and groups; for children, teens and adults.
Categories include: "Best Depiction of Glen Ellyn Building or Event," "Best Depiction of Historical Building or Event," "Best House for Dogs (or Other Companion Animals)," and "Best House for Birds (or Wild Animals)."
New category this year: Best Gingerbread House built with plastic bricks! The bases do not need to be edible (plywood is recommended), but all visible materials should be edible (unless in the plastic bricks category).
The Gingerbread Houses will be on display Saturday, Dec. 7, during the historical society's fourth annual "Gingerbread and Candlelight: A Holiday Celebration for the Entire Family" from 4 to 7 p.m. It will feature Aunt Tillie and Her Elves at 4 p.m.
Stacy's Tavern Museum will be open for candlelight tours. There also will be craft-making for kids and adults. Enjoy refreshments, including cookies and hot chocolate, coffee or tea.
Admission to the celebration is $5; children are free with paid adult admission. Tickets will be sold at the door. Begin at the History Center, 800 N. Main St. in Glen Ellyn.
