IDEX to move headquarters to Northbrook
Global manufacturer IDEX Corp. will be moving its headquarters from Lake Forest to Northbrook, it was announced Wednesday.
The maker of diverse products ranging from DNA testing services to the Hurst Jaws of Life signed a long-term lease for 39,252 square feet of space at 3100 Sanders Road in Northbrook, according to commercial real estate firm Cushman & Wakefield. IDEX will occupy the property's third floor northwest and southwest wings and will offer a modern, newly refurbished space.
Terms of the lease deal were not announced.
IDEX is expected move its operations from 1925 West Field Court in Lake Forest to its new headquarters later this summer, Cushman & Wakefield officials said.
"Staying in the northern suburbs, and finding a modern, long-term space to fit their emerging corporate needs were critical factors in IDEX's headquarters move," said Cushman & Wakefield's Lou Hall, who with Dan Wilkins represented IDEX in the lease transaction.
Among the new office amenities are a private, centrally located on-site cafe, covered parking available for all employees, walking path and workout facility, shared use of a 245-seat auditorium, and shared use of a multi room conference center on the first floor.
The property's landlord, Allstate Corp., was represented by Francis Prock and Daryl Silverman of Colliers.
Founded in 1988, IDEX has 7,000 employees, with manufacturing operations in more than 20 countries. The company has a diverse portfolio of more than 40 businesses with total sales of more than $2 billion, according to its website.
IDEX is the second global company to announce its moving operations out of Lake Forest. Niche pharmaceutical company Horizon Therapeutics said Tuesday it was moving its U.S. operations from the North Shore suburb to the former Takeda Pharmaceutical campus in Deerfield.
