Criticism of Trump ignored facts

In Sunday's "Your Views" column Mr. Petterson wrote commending our governors, both Democratic and Republican for how they're handling the COVID-19 crisis. He went on to condemn president Donald Trump for his handling of the "situation." First of all, Mr. Petterson, it is not a "situation" but a pandemic.

The president first closed our borders to all travelers from China in January of this year, which the Democrats in Congress were vocally opposed to. Remember, it is the Democrats who are proponents of open borders.

The Democratic governors we're hearing from almost daily, are from New York, California and Illinois. Those states all have large "sanctuary cities" where illegal immigrants are eating up public funds. Remember the swine flu epidemic in 2009-10? What did the governors (all Democrats) of those states do to prepare for a future epidemic? Nothing.

president Obama also did nothing. Over 15,000 people died and 65 million were infected, with no federal action and Mr. Petterson wishes to condemn President Trump.

Ask yourself this, Would Hillary be able to tear herself away from her chardonnay to do anything?

Lastly, where do you think the governors are getting their information? From the president's administration.
