Presidential firsts

Our incredible nation has history in electing "first of their kind" presidents: in the mid-seventies we elected the very first Navy Lieutenant who was certified to run the Navy's first Atomic Submarine. He was also the only peanut farmer ever elected president of the United States.

Then in 1980 we Americans elected our first movie star president. Regardless of your politics, Ronald Reagan was a great communicator.

A short time later we elected our first Rhodes Scholar in the person of Bill Clinton.

Following that we elected our first president who holds an MBA. George W. Bush at least brought us together following the Sept. 11 attacks, and Laura Bush became one of the most active and outspoken nonpolitical First Lady's since, well, Barbara Bush.

As this great experiment in democracy has grown, we Americans elected our first black president. He helped create the Affordable Care Act in order to provide health care for millions of Americans who were unable to insure themselves. That brings us to the present.

We now have our first child president. This "person" who obviously doesn't like people and loves dictators, especially Vladimir Putin, is destroying our Constitution and dragging our great country into a quagmire.

Trump's weaknesses have allowed the spread of this virus. In typical dictator fashion, he lies, denies, deflects and blames everyone else. He doesn't care how many people die as long as it's not him and his TV ratings are high. Will someone please try to explain to this person the federal government wouldn't exist if not for WE the People of the UNITED States of America. Instead, it seems, we are becoming the Divided States of Trump.

Let's make America decent again. Dump Trump and we'll all be safer and healthier.
