Cubs enlist Wrigley Field, Hotel Zachary to support COVID-19 relief efforts

The Cubs, in partnership with Hickory Street Capital, announced on Tuesday they will be mobilizing the Wrigleyville campus this week to support ongoing COVID-19 pandemic relief efforts.

Support will include utilizing the Wrigley Field concourse as a temporary satellite food packing and distribution center in coordination with Lakeview Pantry, and providing room accommodations at Hotel Zachary to health care workers from Lakeview's Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.

Lakeview Pantry, Chicago's largest food pantry, will set up the food center on the concourse with volunteer operations beginning this week and continuing every Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. until further notice.

Volunteers will be packing nutritious groceries and essential items to provide to individuals impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning Saturday, Lakeview Pantry will start its distribution services from Wrigley Field, which will take place every Tuesday and Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. until further notice.

Hotel Zachary will reopen this week through April 30 to health care workers from Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center who are in need of a place to stay while aiding COVID-19 patients.

Healthcare workers will receive the same room for the duration of their stay and will be able to have food delivered from local restaurants to the hotel.

Staff at Hotel Zachary will follow social distancing guidelines and will be required to wear personal protective equipment while working.

Hotel Zachary will not be open to the general public during this time.
