Parcells, Seymour, Vrabel named team Hall of Fame finalists

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) - Former coach Bill Parcells, defensive lineman Richard Seymour and linebacker Mike Vrabel were named Tuesday as the three finalists for induction into the New England Patriots team Hall of Fame.

They were selected by a 27-person nomination committee.

Fans now have until May 8 to vote online for one of them.

Parcells coached the team from 1993 until 1996 and led the Patriots to two playoff appearances and one Super Bowl appearance. Parcells was inducted into the Pro Football Fall of Fame in 2013.

Seymour, a 2001 first-round draft pick, spent eight of his 12 NFL seasons with the Patriots and helped the team win three Super Bowls.

Vrabel signed a free-agent deal with the Patriots in 2001 after four years with the Pittsburgh Steelers. He spent eight years with New England, won three Super Bowls, catching touchdown passes in two of them.

He is currently head coach of the Tennessee Titans.

This year's inductee will become the 30th person to be enshrined into the Patriots Hall of Fame.
