'Elgin Strong' T-shirt sale launched by Symonds-Madison Funeral Home

Joy Symonds of Symonds-Madison Funeral Home has launched a two-week campaign to sell "Elgin Strong" T-shirts for adults and children.

A portion of the sales will benefit the Elgin-based nonprofit, True Patriots Care, which honors veterans and first responders across Chicagoland.

"We are going through a challenging time, and I wanted to put a message out there that we are stronger together as a community," said Joy Symonds, owner and director of community engagement for Symonds-Madison Funeral Home. "Now, more than ever, we need positive vibes and optimism. Many of us are donning casual clothes as we stay home, so why not chose a T-shirt with a special message of strength?"

T-shirts are priced beginning at $19.99 and are available for both adults and kids from the online T-shirt company Bonfire, which is still operating during COVID-19.

Standard T-shirts for adults and kids, Raglan style shirts and crew neck sweatshirts are all available.

Place your order atwww.bonfire.com/we-are-elgin-strong/.

The shirts will be available for order until May 7, and orders will ship directly to homes on May 14.

A portion of the sales will be donated to True Patriots Care, an Elgin nonprofit who had to cancel its spring bowling fundraiser due to COVID-19.

In an effort to give the community support 24/7, Dan and Joy Symonds recently posted banners outside Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., with the message, "Stay Strong Elgin."
