Ready for next crisis

We are suffering during the pandemic, in large measure, due to our lack of proactivity and an unwillingness to accept the truths of science. Had we moved quickly when the first warning signs appeared, we would have been better able to contain the spread. We are in the midst of another pandemic - the pandemic of climate change.

Our approach will be developed and directed by the leaders we choose. The 6th District of Illinois faces a dramatic choice. Jeanne Ives is the Republican candidate for Congress. Her website offers insight into her approach to climate change. She and her colleagues continue to be mired in the question her site poses "To what extent is anthropogenic global warming a problem so significant that we ought to take action?"

Fortunately, our incumbent congressman, Sean Casten, is a scientist and proven leader who is playing a leading, proactive role in addressing this most important issue. It is vital that we return him to Congress.
