Bob Spence, Judge Elizabeth Flood, St. Charles car dealers team up for food drive

The owner of two St. Charles car dealerships, Emir Abinion, announced that he is partnering with Bob Spence, candidate for Kane County State's Attorney, and Judge Elizabeth Flood, candidate for Circuit Court Judge, to host a food drive this week.

The proceeds of the event will be divided and donated to local food pantries in Kane County.

Spence and Flood will provide the volunteers and Abinion will provide the locations for the food drop-off.

Participants can drop food off between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Thursday to Saturday, May 28-30, at either of Abinion's two St. Charles locations - Fox Valley Volkswagen, 4050 E. Main St., or Fox Valley Buick/GMC, 1421 E. Main St.

"This is an unusual time, and we all need to step up to help our neighbors during this time," said Spence. Volunteers from Spence's and Flood's campaigns will transport food collected to local food pantries.

"My daughter and I were lucky to volunteer at a local food pantry recently and we understand how great the need is for our community," Flood stated. "We are happy to help during this time, and we know our community members will be generous."

"When Bob Spence and Judge Flood asked me to partner with them in collecting food, I thought it was a great idea," said Abinion. "We hope to collect a lot of food for the local pantries that are in need."

Participants are encouraged to donate peanut butter, canned soup, cereal, canned fruit, canned vegetables, canned stew, canned fish, canned beans, coffee/tea, fruit juice, pasta, and rice.

Anyone interested in attending is encouraged to review the details of the food drive and RSVP via the Facebook event. The Facebook event can be found by visiting the official Facebook pages for "Bob Spence for State's Attorney," "Judge Elizabeth Flood," "Fox Valley Volkswagen," and "Fox Valley Buick GMC".
