The next generation of business leaders and Special Olympics support
On Thursday, June 18, Leader Automotive Group made a special presentation to the Young Entrepreneur's Academy in Palatine and the Special Olympics of Buffalo Grove. For the last week of May, $100 was donated for every car sold, to the two organizations.
In Palatine, the Young Entrepreneur's Academy (YEA!) is facilitated by the Palatine Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Community Consolidated School District 15. YEA is part of a national program that guides young students through the process of starting a real business. This will be the sixth year for the academy. This year 15 student entrepreneurships were launched as students learn from mentors and local business people to become our next generation of business leaders. The donation from Leader automotive goes to fund student businesses and participate in the national program.
The Buffalo Grove Police Department has been a strong supporter of the Illinois Special Olympics for many years. Each year our officers and support staff volunteer many hours organizing and participating in fundraising events such as the Torch Run, Plane Pull, Truck Convoy, Butterburgers and Badges, Cop on Top, and Trivia Night. The Buffalo Grove Police Department is consistently among the top 10 donating agencies for Illinois and in 2018 raised over $55 thousand for Special Olympics. Of course, the COVID-19 pandemic has made it difficult to raise money at the same pace we have in previous years, so the generous donation from the Leader Automotive Group was greatly appreciated.
“Leader Auto has been a primary contributor in the community and has allowed us to help our young students start their businesses” said Palatine Chamber Director Steven Gaus. “We thank Leader Auto for their partnership toward these important community initiatives.”
On July 23, this initiative will be continued when the Chicago Automotive Trade Association provides its support to the YEA program. This event will also take place at Hyundai of Palatine.
