For reproductive health

Reproductive health encompasses a wide range of health care services including mammograms, cervical screenings, family planning services, prenatal through postnatal care and comprehensive sexual health education through all life stages.

Democratic policies such as access to contraception, family planning services and comprehensive, consent-based, sex education contribute to lowering abortion rates.

The issue of reproductive choice is deeply connected with other critical issues such as access to quality health care, contraception, education, mental health care, food and child care. The Democratic platform and our Democratic candidates prioritize all of these.

If we truly support freedom, we must ensure that all people are guaranteed autonomy over their own bodies and their own decisions regarding their bodies and their health. We must also support policies that support pregnant people and families and provide them access to the full range of care needed for them to thrive.

We need strong leaders who will fight for the agency of every pregnant person to make their own decisions and for policies which support reproductive health in its myriad ways. These candidates include Sean Casten for Congress District 6, Raja Krishnamoorthi for Congress District 8, Bill Foster for Congress District 11, Lauren Underwood for Congress District 14, Karina Villa for Illinois State Senate District 25, Maura Hirschauer for Illinois House District 49, Kate Monteleone for Illinois State House District 50 and Martha Paschke for Illinois House District 65. These leaders will take care of us by supporting our full reproductive health.
