Take back our country

As is well known by now, Trump, in an honest moment, acknowledged on a taped interview conducted by journalist Bob Woodward that the coronavirus was worse than the most strenuous flu, was airborne and deadly. Thereafter, he freely admitted down playing this vital information to the American people. In fact for all to hear, he exclaimed the virus would miraculously disappear come warmer weather, that (early on) only 15 people were infected and that number would soon be down to zero and that this whole thing may just be a Democratic hoax to make him look bad on his watch.

His lone explanation for keeping the truth from all of us: To keep us calm; to prevent panic. An analogy might be as follows: A Level 5 tornado is headed to a small Midwestern town. The local weather bureau is fully aware of the potential danger. In order not to create a panic they forecast only light variable winds with occasional mild to moderate wind gusts. The unsuspecting townspeople are defenseless, many die. From analogous fiction to reality, Trump knew the facts about the viral tornado, kept us from the truth, did not have a concerted plan to help us survive and unprotected and unprepared many died.

Trump denied he lied to the nation about the nature and deadly effects of the virus, saying he only misled the public to avoid a panic. Of course, he lied with horrid consequences. Just like the peddler in the Old West who strolled into town and sold the most vulnerable worthless colored water to cure all their ills, our president behaves like a self-serving charlatan.
