Republican incumbent Ugaste wins Illinois House 65th District seat
Incumbent state Rep. Dan Ugaste, a Geneva Republican, posted a clear victory over Democratic challenger Martha Paschke to win reelection to his 65th District seat.
Ugaste garnered 34,707 votes to 32,065 votes for fellow Geneva resident Paschke, unofficial totals show.
Ugaste supports ethics reform in Springfield and has co-sponsored legislation that would prohibit legislators from working as lobbyists for up to three years after they leave office. He also would like them prohibited from lobbying other levels of government during that time.
The district includes parts of Geneva, St. Charles, Campton Hills, Plato Center, South Elgin, Elgin, Hampshire and Huntley.
