Lexington Homes Starts Sales for 29 Single-Family Homes at Parkside of Glenview

Chicago-based Lexington Homes has started sales at Parkside of Glenview, a new community of 29 single-family homes in north-suburban Glenview, Ill. All homes at the maintenance-free community include first-floor primary suites. Parkside of Glenview is in a prime location near the intersection of Willow and Landwehr roads, just west of the shopping, dining and recreation at The Glen mixed-used development.

Parkside of Glenview offers four floor plans, including three designs with a two-story layout and one ranch plan. Each home comes with a choice of exterior architectural styles, ranging from Craftsman and European to Farmhouse and Shingle. Base-priced from $874,990, homes measure 2,663 to 3,676 square feet and have three bedrooms, 2½ baths, a patio, basement and attached front-loading two-car garage. Two-story plans also include a first-floor flex space as well as a second-floor loft/study, with one plan offering an additional bonus room upstairs.

"Given everything that's going on right now, we've definitely seen a broader buyer demographic interested in the community due to its convenient location within a great school district and the fact that there are up to two dedicated home office spaces in the two-story plans," said Jeff Benach, principal of Lexington Homes. "Our first few sales were from people in the area looking to right size to a stylish new-construction and maintenance-free home with all the main living areas, including a primary suite, on the same floor. But now we're seeing more traffic from families as everyone is responding strongly to the flexibility and space of the home designs."

Two model homes are under construction and set to open in early 2021, added Benach. "These are new plans for Lexington, so there's equal excitement between us and prospective buyers to walk through the models and see the enhanced line of high-end standard features and optional finishes we offering specific to this community," he said. In the meantime, buyers can still take advantage of pre-construction pricing between now and when models open.

All two-story homes in the community are designed for those who want their main living, dining, home office, laundry and bedroom spaces on the first floor, with secondary bedrooms and guest baths, as well as a loft, study and optional bonus space for children or visiting relatives and friends on the second floor.

Each home includes a kitchen with a casual eating nook, walk-in pantry and an island that can seat five to six people. Kitchens include Thermador, Bosch and Broan appliances and Kohler faucets as well as features like soft-close doors and drawers, full-height backsplash, 1¼-inch quartz or granite countertops and pendant lighting over the island.

Other standout features of the homes include a family room with fireplace; formal dining room that connects to the kitchen via a butler pantry; and laundry and/or storage room entry off the garage. Spacious primary suites have room for a sitting area and include one to two walk-in closets, a linen closet, dual vanities, private water closets, soaking tubs and oversized walk-in showers. Options range from both extended and covered patios off the rear of the home to built-ins such as storage cubbies near the garage and a buffet in the breakfast nook. Additional included features are hardwood flooring in main living areas on the first floor, ceramic tile and Kohler fixtures in baths, oak staircase and choice of railings, and a full, unfinished deep-pour basement.

In the two-story plans, a flex room that can be used as a formal living room or home office is located near the home's foyer and the open-concept kitchen and family room area features a volume ceiling that opens to the upstairs loft.

Exteriors of the homes feature architectural detailing like gabled rooflines and HardiePlank siding in modern tones of grays, blues and browns, along with stone and cedar trim. Front porches include decorative pillars with stone features, and garage doors will have custom trim in a variety of styles. Buyers also can opt for two single-door garage bays in select elevations for a more custom-home look.

Parkside of Glenview also offers extra open space and green space, as homes are arranged along a circular drive that encompasses a centrally located park with benches and a walking path. "More than ever, homebuyers are looking for extra places to enjoy the outdoors, whether to sit outside, play with grandchildren or walk the dog, and this new community offers the perfect pocket areas to get fresh air outside of a resident's home and yard," said Benach.

A monthly maintenance fee will cover snow removal, landscaping and yard maintenance, so residents can enjoy many of the community's nearby amenities, including The Glen, a 1,000-acre mixed-use site with shopping and dining; a grocery store; post office; medical facilities; office space; a Metra station; the Kohl's Children's Museum; and a number of recreational areas, including two golf courses.

Located just east of Interstate 294, Parkside of Glenview offers a convenient location for residents with proximity to many large employers in the north and northwest suburbs. The community is also near NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital and is served by the highly rated District 31 school district, as well as Glenbrook South High School.
