All three of Atlanta's ex-Bulls will be sidelined for opener

The three former Bulls on Atlanta's roster, Kris Dunn, Rajon Rondo and Tony Snell, are listed as out for Wednesday's game. Dunn has a sore right knee, Snell has a right foot injury and Rondo is following health and safety protocols, according to the official injury report.

The Hawks also will not have rookie center Onyeka Okongwu, the No. 6 draft pick, with a left foot injury, while center Clint Capela is listed as doubtful with a sore left Achilles. The only Bulls player listed out is Thad Young (leg infection).

When he played for the Bulls, Dunn was usually the guy who tried to slow down Hawks guard Trae Young, so that part will be interesting to watch on Wednesday.

The Hawks added a few new players, including forward Danilo Gallinari, who played for Bulls coach Billy Donovan in Oklahoma City last season.

"Obviously Trae Young and the guys who have been there - (John) Collins, (Cam) Reddish, (DeAndre) Hunter - they've got depth, they've got size. they've got athleticism," Donovan said of the Hawks. "They've got the flexibility in the frontcourt to play small or play big. They've got some experienced guys.

"They're going to be a very, very elite offensive team. I don't think there's any question about that. I think everybody is finding their way this time of year. I think you'll see teams get better as the season moves along. But this is a very good team that played with a lot of younger guys last year and now have added veteran guys and guys who have won at a high level."
