Rapid COVID testing facility opens in Vernon Hills
A COVID-19 rapid test facility opened Thursday in the Hawthorn Mall parking lot facing Route 60 (Townline Road) west of Route 21 (Milwaukee Avenue) in Vernon Hills.
Rocket Testing offers drive through and express coronavirus antigen testing from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily including weekends. Appointments are not necessary. Cost is $175. Results typically are available in 15 minutes.
Users are given a receipt with pertinent information that can be submitted for to insurance for possible reimbursement. It is Rocket's seventh facility in Chicago and the suburbs. The Vernon Hills village board gave approval for the facility to operate for four months, with an extension possible.
