Village of Hampshire launches new brand representing opportunity, tradition and community

The Village of Hampshire announced it has launched a new brand for the community. The new logo and tagline represent opportunity, tradition and a strong sense of community.

The tagline - Embrace Opportunity. Honor Tradition. - captures the village's emphasis on growing the community while honoring its 176-year history.

The village will utilize the new brand throughout all its marketing and communications channels. The brand has also been adopted by the Hampshire Area Chamber of Commerce.

"We have a great story to tell, and by creating a unified brand we will have a consistent way to communicate with residents, businesses and visitors," Mayor Jeff Magnussen said.

A growing community of 7,200-plus residents, Hampshire offers hometown charm, great schools and friendly neighbors. "Hampshire residents really do care about one another and making their community a better place," Magnussen said.

Trustee Mike Reid, who chairs the Public Relations Committee that led the development of the brand, said the new brand will help the village tell one story. "Whether we are communicating with residents or businesses, and whatever communication channel we are using, we will project a cohesive message about Hampshire," Reid said. "The purple color in the new brand identity is a nod to Hampshire schools."

According to Trustee Ryan Krajecki, who chairs the Business Development Commission, the new brand will help attract new businesses to the village. "We wanted to create something fresh that clearly communicates we are pro-business and have opportunities to grow."

Krajecki says a new economic development brochure will highlight the new branding.

The Hampshire Area Chamber of Commerce leadership decided to embrace the new brand and adopt a version for its own use. "It's important to communicate with one voice and be clear about what makes Hampshire a desirable to place to live and own a business," said Chamber Executive Director Jeanie Mayer. "Our Chamber board jumped at the opportunity to adopt something new, exciting and forward- looking.
