Winfield church joins in town's centennial celebration with old-fashioned hymn sing
Winfield Community United Methodist Church celebrated the Village of Winfield's centennial with a community old-fashioned hymn sing.
More than 50 community and church members turned out for this one-hour event July 8 at the church's gazebo.
The immediate response from the attendees was that it was special and fun and many asked the church to consider an annual event for a community old-fashion hymn sing.
Pastor Bruce Anderson was the host for the evening and Olive Aliga played the keyboard with Marty and Melinda Keske as the song leaders. The community members included Winfield Village Trustees Emily Jacobs and Deb Piscola.
The church has in-person worship services on Sundays at 10:30 a.m.
The church is located at 0S347 Jefferson (corner of Jefferson and Sunnyside) in Winfield.
