14th Annual Hot Chocolate Race Returns to Downtown Chicago
The Hot Chocolate 15k/5k race returns in-person to Chicago on Sunday, November 7. The race benefits St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, the official charity of Ventures Endurance. All donations received during registration and at the event will support St. Jude leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Ventures Endurance's Hot Chocolate series, coined as America's Sweetest Race, was founded in downtown Chicago in 2008. Since its inception, over 200,000 runners across 22 cities have participated, virtually and in-person, making it one of the fastest-growing and most popular race series in the United States. This year's Chicago race is comprised of 5- and 15- kilometer distance options and a post-race chocolate experience. The race will also offer a virtual option, welcoming runners from around the country to participate alongside their fellow Hot Chocolate community of athletes.
"We're thrilled to announce that after two years, the Hot Chocolate Race will return, in-person, to our hometown of Chicago," said Lou Seal, director, Hot Chocolate 15k/5k Race. "Our participants' safety is of the utmost importance to Ventures Endurance and therefore we are taking preventive measures by creating safety guidelines alongside local public health authorities to meet and exceed rules and regulations in place."
Hot Chocolate participants are invited to join the post-race party, complete with a DJ and vendors hosting exciting gift giveaways as participants enjoy specialty hot chocolate, chocolate fondue, and other delicious treats. All race finishers, whether virtual or in-person, will receive premium swag including a 15k or 5k official Hot Chocolate medal to commemorate their achievement as well as a lightweight puffer jacket making its debut at this event.
