Dr. Thomas Schneider, Jr. Installed as 2022 President of the Chicago Dental Society

With more than 30 years of experience as a practicing periodontist, Thomas Schneider, Jr., D.D.S., of Glenview, Illinois, was installed as President of the Chicago Dental Society (CDS) on November 14. Previously, Dr. Schneider held multiple leadership positions within CDS' Northwest Side Branch and served on numerous CDS committees.
As President, Dr. Schneider will lead planning efforts and preparations for the 157th Midwinter Meeting, "A Dental Tradition," which will be held at McCormick Place West in Chicago, February 24-26, 2022. The Midwinter Meeting is CDS' annual scientific meeting and one of the dental industry's premier events. The 2022 event will be back in person after a virtual experience in 2021 and will offer attendees access to courses taught by world-class speakers and today's leaders in dental innovation, live exhibits and networking opportunities with colleagues and friends.
Dr. Schneider graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry and has a bachelor's and master's degree from Loyola University Chicago and Loyola University's School of Dentistry with a specialty in Periodontics, respectively. In addition to his leadership roles with CDS, he is a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, American Academy of Periodontology, Illinois Society of Periodontists, Midwest Society of Periodontology, The Odontographic Society of Chicago, and is a Fellow of both the International College of Dentists and the American College of Dentists.
Dr. Schneider also has taught dentistry for much of his 33-year career and is currently teaching in the Department of Periodontics at the University of Illinois Chicago College of Dentistry. He is also an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Dr. Schneider lives in Glenview, Illinois, with his wife, Sarah. They have two grown children, Peter and Margaret. When not practicing dentistry, Dr. Schneider enjoys woodworking, cars, boating and is an avid fisherman.
Established in 1864, CDS is the largest local society of the American Dental Association, with more than 4,000 members in Cook, Lake and DuPage counties.
