Bears place Goldman, Burns and Kamara on COVID-19 list
The Bears placed three more players on the reserve/COVID-19 list Tuesday. Nose tackle Eddie Goldman, cornerback Artie Burns and practice squad linebacker Sam Kamara went on the list, the team announced.
This comes one day after defensive end Mario Edwards went on the COVID-19 list.
Across the NFL, at least 60 players have been sent to the COVID-19 list over the past two days. The Los Angeles Rams and the Cleveland Browns have both gone into enhanced COVID-19 protocol, per reports, which means meetings are held virtually.
The league also circulated a memo this week, per the NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, indicating that vaccinated staff members must receive a booster shot by Dec. 27.
For the Bears, this makes five total players on the COVID-19 list. Offensive tackle Elijah Wilkinson has been on the COVID-19 list since Nov. 26.
With Goldman and Edwards on the list, the Bears could have some issues on the defensive line. Tackle Akiem Hicks has also been out with an ankle injury. Burns has started three straight games at cornerback.
Goldman previously went on the COVID-19 list in August and missed about 10 days during training camp.
The reserve/COVID-19 list is for players who test positive for the coronavirus and for unvaccinated players who are deemed close contacts to someone who tested positive. The rules vary depending on a player's vaccination status. Generally speaking, it is much more lenient for players who are vaccinated.
