Aurora's New England Congregational Church installs senior minister

The Rev. Dr. Brandon Perrine was installed as senior minister of New England Congregational Church in Aurora during the 10 a.m. worship on Sunday, Jan. 9.

The Rev. Dr. Terrill Murff, acting associate conference minister of the Fox Valley Association of the Illinois Conference United Church of Christ, was guest preacher. He spoke on "Pleasing God."

A coffee reception followed the installation service.

An Aurora resident, Rev. Perrine previously served congregations in Minnesota in Minneapolis and Falcon Heights, as well as La Crosse, Wisconsin. He completed his Masters of Divinity at Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota, and his Doctor of Ministry at United Theological Seminary of the Twin Cities.

The installation service was livestreamed and a video recording is on the church YouTube channel.

The church's 8:30 a.m. service was canceled to allow all to attend the installation.

Rev. Perrine succeeded the Rev. Gary McCann who retired in January 2021 after 35 years of ministry with the church.
