Scooter's Coffee franchise to open three suburban locations

Scooter's Coffee, a Midwest-based drive-through coffee franchise, will expand into the Chicago suburbs with new locations in Algonquin, Hoffman Estates and South Elgin, the company said.

The expansion is the result of a three-unit franchise agreement signed by area resident Alex Matsas and his daughter, Ava.

"There are no locations in our area yet, so my dad and I are looking forward to bringing Scooter's Coffee to our family and friends. They are very excited to get to try it," Ava Matsas said.

Alex Matsas is a veteran of the service industry, owning a local Chicago restaurant, who seized the opportunity to bring Scooter's Coffee to his community.

"The Chicago area is a great market for our brand," said Kelly Crummer, Scooter's Coffee senior director of franchise recruitment. "This addition will allow us to increase our brand's presence and bring awareness to our great products and service."

Scooter's Coffee, based in Omaha, Nebraska, was founded in 1998 and specializes in artisan espresso drinks, fruit smoothies, baked-from-scratch pastries and its signature drink, the Caramelicious. The company also recently added depth to its profile with a line of organic hot and iced teas, single-origin coffee and Cold Brew & Cream.
