St. Charles East Drama Club to explore '20,000 Leagues Under the Sea' Feb. 4-6

St. Charles East Drama Club presents its winter play, "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" on Feb. 4-6.

This adaptation by David Kersnar and Althos Low will be performed at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Feb. 4-5, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 6, at the Norris Cultural Arts Center.

Based on Jules Verne's classic work of science fiction, this adaption reveals the omitted history of Professor Aronnax's adventures as a prisoner of Captain Nemo.

Within Nemo's submersible war machine, the Nautilus, the characters confront dangerous environments and sea creatures as well as questions of morality, responsibility, and revenge.

Tickets are $7, $5 for students, or free for senior citizens. Tickets will be sold online only via east.d303.org/news/; no tickets at the door.

Masks are required. Limited seating due to safety protocols.
