Virtual event with Jennifer Chiaverini, author of 'The Women's March'

The League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area will host a virtual author event with bestselling author Jennifer Chiaverini, who will discuss her new novel, "The Women's March."

The event will take place via Zoom from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 10. The cost is $5.

Chiaverini's historical novel highlights three courageous women: Alice Paul, Maud Malone and Ida B. Wells-Barnett, who spent much of her later career in Chicago.

Learn from the author herself about how they organized and participated in the suffragettes' parade in Washington, D.C. on March 3, 1913. On that day, the day before anti-suffragist Woodrow Wilson's inauguration, these devoted activists rallied thousands of women to bravely march down Pennsylvania Avenue, fighting not just for the right to vote, but for full equality.
