Durty Nellie's brings back St. Patrick's festivities, celebrates 50 years
Irish eyes will be smiling on Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith St., in downtown Palatine, on Saturday, March 12 for the 11th legendary St. Patrick's Celebration - which is back after a two-year hiatus - with all the fun and shenanigans from previous years that have brought thousands of people to downtown Palatine!
This event is - and always has been - presented by Durty Nellie's, a premiere entertainment hub, restaurant, traditional Irish pub and event destination in downtown Palatine. The Palatine St. Patrick's Celebration Pot O' Gold sponsors include a Closer Bond Dog Community Center and Guaranteed Rate. Katy Cushing, A Closer Bond';s founder, is the Parade's Grand Marshal, and Erik Johannsen is the Parade's King. Patricia Fluhler, who serves on the village of Palatine's Beautification Commission, will serve as the Parade's Queen. All three will be leading the parade.
Events throughout the day will include the all-new Traditional Irish Breakfast from 8:30-10:30 a.m., at Durty Nellie's, followed by the St. Patrick's Parade that steps off at 11 a.m. in downtown Palatine at Wood and Oak streets and heads west on Wood Street, leading back to Durty Nellie's for an epic after party to celebrate the popular Irish holiday and the businesses' 50th birthday.
"It's hard to believe it's been two years since we were able to host this popular celebration, and we are so excited to bring it back," said Jimmy Dolezal, Durty Nellie's owner."What makes this day-long event that much more poignant is that we are also celebrating our 50th year in business in downtown Palatine. It's been a wild ride, but we have made it through some very challenging times, and now it's time to celebrate!"
