Highland Park Giants Hockey Club and former head Varsity Coach Marc Eisenberg donate $4K to Disabled Hockey Program

The Chicago Blackhawks Special Hockey Program has received a very generous donation of $4,000 on behalf of the Highland Park Giants Hockey Club and former head Varsity Coach, Marc Eisenberg.

Chicago Blackhawks Special Hockey is dedicated to providing children and adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to play hockey. The team is comprised of players that have Autism, Down syndrome or other intellectual disabilities. CBSH strives to promote and emphasize the development of sportsmanship, team spirit, increased confidence, pride, and team unity while having a great time in the process.

"Our program has expanded. We are in five different rinks and have 120 players." said volunteer director, Melanie Freeman. We offer the program to anyone with cognitive disabilities regardless of ability to pay. We believe that hockey is for everyone and accept players, regardless of financial ability. Generous donations like this one makes it possible for us to continue to offer our program to everyone with a cognitive disability.
