Motorola buys national radio service in Ireland

CHICAGO - Motorola Solutions Inc. Wednesday said it has acquired TETRA Ireland Communications Limited, the provider of Ireland's National Digital Radio Service.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

TETRA Ireland delivers mission-critical voice and data land mobile radio communications to thousands of first responders and front-line workers. The radio system is used by national security and enforcement agencies, health and emergency services industry, state utilities and volunteer organizations across the country.

The network is based on the latest TETRA digital radio technology provided by Motorola Solutions.
