DuPage Children's Museum names new board members

The DuPage Children's Museum in Naperville recently announced three new board members: Jim Rekoske, Antony Nettleton and Adrian Talley.

The museum's board of directors provides guidance and strategy to advance the social mission and to realize the nonprofit's vision that all children thrive through access to extraordinary learning experiences.

Building support for the work of the museum requires passionate leaders with significant experience and accomplishments in business and philanthropy.

"We are delighted to welcome this highly regarded group of business and community leaders to our board," said Nitin Vig, museum board member and governance committee chair. "Their rich experience and array of talents will contribute meaningfully to the continued growth and success of DCM."

Dr. Jim Rekoske is senior vice president in research, development and engineering for Ecolab Inc., specializing in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that protect people and vital resources. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in chemical engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he serves as a trustee, a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware, and an MBA from the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, where he was the Amy and Richard F. Wallman Scholar. He is married to Linda J. Broadbelt, who is the Sarah Rebecca Roland Professor of Chemical and Biological Engineering at Northwestern University. In addition, he studies social psychology as a hobby. He brings his passion about science, technology. and innovation to the museum.

Antony Nettleton, the Northern Illinois Market Leader and partner at Sikich, also joins the board. Nettleton leads the Sikich Assurance practice. He has nearly three decades of experience as a leader in the accounting profession, serving a variety of industries, including manufacturing and distribution, retail, professional services, and technology. He has led audit practices at the local, national and international levels. In addition, Nettleton has previously served on both charitable and commercial boards.

Originally from the U.K., Nettleton moved to Naperville in 1997 where he and his wife, Diane, raised their three grown children. In his spare time, he likes to spoil his grandchildren, watch soccer, and play golf at Naperville Country Club. He and his family delight in the museum's exhibits and programs.

Dr. Adrian Talley began serving as superintendent of Indian Prairie Unit District 204 in July 2020. He has more than three decades of experience in education, including 5 years of administrative experience in one of the nation's 25 largest school districts serving a diverse student population from urban, suburban, and rural communities located in the Washington, D.C. suburbs.

"My whole adult life has been focused on education of children and the best practices that support engagement with our community," Talley said. "I am honored to bring those experiences to the board to advance DCM's mission to connect the museum to our families in order to support student achievement and make learning relevant, exciting, and enjoyable for children."

Museum president/CEO Andrea Wiles expressed her enthusiasm about the new board members. "We are excited to welcome these accomplished and diverse thought leaders to the museum. Jim, Antony, and Adrian are deeply committed to DCM's efforts to create equitable access to joyful discovery through the removal of barriers and the intentional creation of pathways to resources. We are thrilled they have joined our team."

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, DuPage Children's Museum relies on the generosity of the community to extend the wonders of learning through play to all children. Contributions help welcome more visitors, create new exhibits, continue education and outreach, and provide children hands-on learning experiences.

The museum serves over 300,000 visitors annually representing all 50 states and 575 ZIP codes in Illinois. The museum's impact extends across cultural, financial, and educational boundaries.
