Recycle your electronics during Libertyville event

The Libertyville Sunrise Rotary Club announced it will be partnering with Blue Star Recyclers and Sunset Foods to host its second annual Electronics Recycling Collection Event.

The event provides two convenient options for participation. A drop-off event will be offered from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 30, in the parking lot of the Libertyville Sunset Foods, 1451 Peterson Road.

The second option, which is available to Libertyville residents, is to schedule an at-home pickup for large or heavy items only the week of May 2 at EZelectronicsrecycling.com.

Blue Star Recyclers has a local facility in Buffalo Grove and is based out of Colorado. The organization's mission is to recycle electronics and other materials to create local jobs for individuals with autism and disabilities.

The drop-off event provides a convenient way for people to recycle desktop towers, laptops, servers, cellphones and power cords at no charge. Additional items, such as TVs, microwaves, vacuums, printers, batteries and more, can be dropped off for a nominal per-pound fee.
