Letter: Campaign of insults doesn't deserve support
It goes without saying that election season will include the usual politicking, with each candidate seeking to outdo the others, gain name recognition and hopefully succeed on Election Day. But Chad Koppie, a Republican candidate for district 8, has gone too far.
His Web page claims that he is a family man and a patriot with a duty to God, yet his campaign signs include the statement "Let's Go Brandon." It is commonly known that statement is Republican code for a profane insult of President Joe Biden.
I wonder how Mr. Koppie expects parents to explain his slogan to their children. Does he feel that slogan portrays him as the "honorable man" his Web page claims he is? Perhaps he feels that his behavior emulating Donald Trump by flinging personal insults rather than discussing issues will gain him the votes of the far right wing Republicans. I certainly hope voters are as offended by his campaign sign as I am and vote for another candidate, any other candidate.
